Jordan Zimmermann smiled one time during an April 2012 postgame interview. He also may have cracked a smile in a 2013 interview after a Spring Training start. In a stunning development, Jordan Zimmermann smiled and possibly even told a joke during his postgame meet and greet with the media on Wednesday night, following his 7 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 4 K, 90 pitch performance against the White Sox. Video is here via MASN. Here's Zimmermann talking about the delayed start to the game (umps got stuck in DC traffic):
Zimmermann: "I had plenty enough time. They let me know pretty early, and they just said that, gonna be a little delayed, be prepared to sit around a little bit."
Reporter: "So what did you do to..."
Zimmermann: "Sat around, yeah." [Big smile, seen above. That's a joke, people!]
Nationals 5, White Sox 2: File under: When Jordan Zimmermann smiles, the world smiles along with him. Plenty of run support; Bryce Harper hit one up into Adam Dunn territory.
