Death, taxes, and Matt Williams mismanaging his bullpen.
The good news is, Jonathan Papelbon will be well rested for 2016.
On the decision *not* to use Papelbon in the 9th of a 5-5 game last night:
"We want him closing games out, yeah. So we’re down to two guys. We need a one inning guy there because we’re going to have to hit for the pitcher anyway and we’re going to have to go long with Sammy in that regard."
-- Matt Williams, 9/1/2015"Thanks Matt!"
-- Sincerely, The Mets
It's almost like he's trying to get himself fired.

It's called a doubleswitch. Put in Solis and swap out Escobar for Espinosa. Voila -- the no one has to hit for the pitcher. And, you upgrade your defense at the same time.
